Wrap-up

Well the spring term is over and done, and my thesis is printed, bound and turned in. Over all I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, especially since this is the most personal project I’ve tackled with design yet. At first I was very nervous about the subject- I wasn’t sure how much of myself I wanted to expose. I also have very little experience writing about inter-racial relationships and was anxious about my ability to articulate the story of Pidgin in an appropriate tone. In the end, I’m glad I chose to push myself because I feel that, in addition to learning more technical things like using in indesign and working with photography, I learned a lot about myself and my roots. In doing this project I had to sit down and sort out exactly what was going on with feelings and ideas that I’ve had my entire life. This may sound sappy, but I feel like I know myself a little better after doing this project.
